Due to popular demand, this is now part of my regular rotation of sugar scrub variations. But the rose maroc is expensive, so I only buy a teeny bit at a time. Better get yours while you see it listed – these will not last!
This fragrant sugar scrub is absolutely heavenly. I almost can’t describe it, but I’ll sure give it a shot! True Turkish Rose Maroc Absolute gives this scrub a bright and fresh rose fragrance that is nothing like the artificial rose fragrances you typically find. This is like a real garden rose, clipped fresh from the bush. It is not a thick and cloying heady rose fragrance, but rather like a tea rose – something brighter and fresher. Bright and citrusy notes are added with the addition of lemon essential oil. Real rose petals are crushed and dispersed throughout the scrub. This scrub makes a wonderful gift for a mother, sister, daughter or friend, but is even better enjoyed as a gift for yourself!
Please read on for the description of my sugar scrubs in general.
My sugar scrubs are not drippy and runny like some other sugar scrubs can be. I use enough solid oils in my formula to allow it to keep its shape long enough to get from the jar to your skin. It is nice and thick, but melts right at your body temperature, so it is every bit as moisturizing as a scrub made with only liquid oils. You will receive 9 ounces in a blue cobalt jar made from post consumer resin. I also use a tamper-evident pressure seal, so you can be sure your product will arrive safe and sound, with no leaking during shipment.
Just let me tell you how much I love this stuff. I live in Colorado, where it is so dry and so hot in the summer, your skin feels like it’s turning into jerky. My skin is positively parched. I use this scrub every other day in the shower from neck to toes, and it leaves my skin so soft and moisturized, I don’t even need lotion on the days I DON’T use it!
The best part is that all of the ingredients are ORGANIC (except the essential oils)! Also, the shea butter I use is raw and unrefined, which means it retains the full range of therapeutic compounds present in the natural shea nut. Refined shea butter is subjected to a harsh battery of processing, including bleaching and deodorizing, leaving it much less potent. I switched all of my formulas to raw shea, and I will never go back! Now, I haven’t been certified organic by any fancy shmancy oversight organization. But I buy all of my materials from companies who do.
Disclaimer: the oils in the scrub may leave your tub a little slick. Please use caution when entering and exiting the bath.
